A seamless fusion of traditional craftsmanship and cutting-edge print technology has earned Studio Q / Laserfoil the coveted 2025 Pride In Print Supreme Award for their exquisite wedding invitation suite. Studio Q / Laserfoil also took home the Specialty Products Category Award, a milestone in itself for the small but dedicated team.

“Over the years we’ve won quite a few Golds and the Process Award several times, but we’ve never won a Category Award before tonight,” said Dave Trotter (Director/Owner), Tim Morris (Letterpress Specialist), and Liesl Trotter (Account Manager). “We are a small company and we didn’t expect to win the Supreme Award – there are some big companies out there doing outstanding work.”

The winning piece. A breathtaking overseas wedding invitation suite for clients Kaya and Brian, demonstrated exceptional technical complexity across digital and letterpress printing, die-cutting, foiling, hand-stitching, and more. Judges were captivated by its vintage American stamps, personalised seal, hand-mixed Pantone colours, and flawlessly-aligned envelope elements, praising the suite as “technically and aesthetically perfect.”

This meticulously crafted suite was produced for New Jersey-based clients and designed by internationally renowned Michaela McBride Calligraphy, the project underscores New Zealand’s global reputation for premium bespoke print. Speaking after the win, Studio Q / Laserfoil’s Dave Trotter emphasised the power of in-house precision and the enduring relevance of letterpress, calling the achievement a celebration of both modern and heritage print practices.
